Kidney COP is thought to work by: 1. Magnesium citrate combines with calcium to form urinary soluble molecules and produces fewer insoluble calcium oxalate crystals. Increased urinary citrate content increases the saturation limit and reduces the ability of calcium oxalate crystals to grow.
