L-Leucine is an essential amino acid. L-Leucine is known as one of the three branched chain amino acids (BCAA). It works with L-valine and L-isoleucine to protect and fuel the muscles. BCAA are used by body builders and other athletes to produce an anabolic effect and assist in the repair of micro tears in muscle tissue that are a normal result of exercise.
